Linda, retired U.S. Forest Service – firefighter, forester, and district ranger – identifies all the resources we depend on that come from the forest and the land. She discusses fire suppression, prescribed burn, harvest, and management – and the need to address the Wild-land Urban Interface to provide safety and prevents crown fire and the difference in management of wilderness wildfire management. The importance of preventative work is stressed – with an investment by a variety of stakeholders including the forest industry and those who recreate in the forest.
